Via NY Post

A third woman came forward on Monday to accuse New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo of inappropriate sexual behavior, saying he grabbed and kissed her at a 2019 wedding.

Anna Ruch, 33, told The New York Times that the 63-year-old governor made unwanted advances toward her and planted an unsolicited kiss on her cheek at the reception in Manhattan.

“He said, ‘Can I kiss you?’” Ruch recalled. “I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed.”

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on Monday addressed the mounting sexual harassment scandal engulfing his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, telling viewers that he “obviously” would not be covering it.

“Obviously I am aware of what’s going on with my brother,” the anchor said at the top of his primetime show. “And obviously I cannot cover it, because he is my brother.”

“Now, of course CNN has to cover it,” the host continued. “They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so.”

“I have always cared very deeply about these issues and profoundly so,” Cuomo, 50, added. “There’s a lot of news going on that matters also so let’s get after that.”

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo lawyered up as he faces dueling scandals.

  • His administration hired criminal defense attorney and former federal prosecutor Elkan Abramowitz.
  • Abramowitz will handle investigations into nursing home deaths and sexual harassment allegations.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration has hired a criminal defense attorney to take point on the dueling scandals facing the high profile Democrat.

Cuomo tapped Elkan Abramowitz, a longtime attorney for director Woody Allen and former federal prosecutor to handle investigations into both nursing home deaths and allegations of sexual harassment, the Wall Street Journal first reported on Monday.

Abramowitz has not been afraid to embrace aggressive tactics to defend his clients. He once called Allen’s adopted daughter a “pawn” being used by her mother, Mia Farrow, to smear his client with allegations of sexual abuse.

New York Attorney General Tish James also announced on Monday that she is moving ahead with her independent investigation into sexual harassment allegations against the governor.

According to FOX NEWS:

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has retained a prominent white-collar defense attorney as it grapples with allegations of sexual harassment and Justice Department inquiries into Covid-19 deaths in the state’s nursing homes.

Elkan Abramowitz, a one-time federal prosecutor, confirmed he was representing the Executive Chamber—which comprises the governor and his closest aides—in both the sexual harassment and nursing-home matters. Rich Azzopardi, a senior adviser to Mr. Cuomo, deferred comment to Mr. Abramowitz.

The Democratic governor faces an investigation overseen by State Attorney General Letitia James into whether he sexually harassed women who previously worked in his administration. Mr. Cuomo acknowledged he had sometimes been overly personal while interacting with staff and said he was sorry if anyone mistook it for unwanted flirtation.

Mr. Cuomo said last week that the state is cooperating with three inquiries from the Brooklyn-based U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York, as well as the U.S. Justice Department.

Cuomo’s Biggest Supporters Seem To Be Abandoning Him.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Monday finally broke her silence on an investigation into allegations New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women.

“These stories are difficult to read, and the allegations brought forth raise serious questions that the women who have come forward and all New Yorkers deserve answers to,” she said in a statement. “I’m glad to see that there will be a full, independent, and thorough investigation.”

You might recall Hillary Clinton was a huge supporter of Andrew Cuomo in his primary run for governor over the more progressive candidate Cynthia Nixon, in 2018. This caused quite a stir among the far left wing of the NY Democrat Party
