Spring has an in-between energy… warm days, cool nights, shifting rhythms—and it’s often when the body feels a little more vulnerable.
This is one of the simplest ways I support my family during that transition. Not by overpowering the body, but by giving it something warm, active, and deeply supportive right at the start.
Fresh ginger and turmeric bring that gentle heat that moves through the body, supporting circulation and keeping things active and responsive. They help the body stay warm, open, and moving—especially when you feel that first subtle shift coming on.
Onions—both white and purple—work in a quieter, more grounding way. They’re rich in sulfur compounds that support the respiratory system and help the body move through mucus and congestion without force. It’s a mellow, steady kind of support. Not aggressive, but deeply effective over time.
Purple onions also bring in those deep pigments—antioxidant-rich compounds that support overall resilience during seasonal transitions.
Raw honey ties everything together. It softens the sharpness, becaus preserves the mixture, and adds its own soothing, antimicrobial qualities. It also makes this something you’ll actually take—especially when it’s already made and waiting.
Spring Flu Bomb (makes ~1 cup) Finely chop equal parts:
white onion
purple onion
fresh ginger
fresh turmeric
Fill your jar with the chopped mixture, then pour raw honey over until everything is fully covered. Stir gently, seal, and let it sit for at least 12–24 hours before using. Store in the fridge.
Take 1 spoonful at the first sign of feeling off, or daily during those in-between seasonal shifts. Simple, potent, and made right in your kitchen.
