I am deeply proud to be an American, with a love for my country that runs to my core. I hold immense admiration for our Founding Fathers …. wealthy businessmen, farmers, ranchers, and laborers …. common men who rose as one to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. With unyielding courage, they took up arms for the cause of liberty and freedom, defying and defeating the most powerful army on earth.
Their sacrifice and resolve forged a nation built on the principles of independence and self-governance, inspiring generations. Their legacy fuels my gratitude and commitment to honor the ideals they fought for, ensuring their vision endures.
So, I thought I’d take a moment to sit down and try to cut through the noise and remind folks what Independence Day is all about … not just hot dogs, fireworks, or an extra day off to grill…. it’s about liberty, the beating heart of our nation. You’re not going to find that in the Nathan’s hot dog eating contests or sparkler shows.
It’s the God-given freedom to live as individuals, not drones in some collectivist hive. It’s woven into the million small choices we make daily, from how we raise our kids to how we stand up to the swamp. This July 4th, let’s celebrate the real deal: a way of life that keeps us independent, not just from tyrants, but from each other’s overreach.
When the Founders told the crown to take a hike, they weren’t just dunking on King George for laughs. They rejected his tyranny and built a constitutional republic grounded in individual rights … no kings, no elites, just us, the people, governing ourselves.
The Declaration of Independence, signed on that sweaty, sweltering hot July day in 1776, wasn’t a polite suggestion. It was a big, bulbous, hairy knuckled, middle finger to centralized power, proclaiming that our rights….. life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness….. come from God, not government.
The Constitution backed that up, with the Bill of Rights locking in our freedoms, like the First Amendment’s guarantee to speak our minds and the Second’s promise to keep and bear arms. Liberty means I get to choose my own path, to protect my family, and tell corporate media and Washington DC corruptocrats, and the woke busybodies to kiss my red, white and blue ass when they try to dictate what I think or do.
But liberty ain’t a spectator sport. It’s not just voting every few years or waving a flag while the brats sizzle on the grill. It’s the daily grind of personal responsibility…. running your own business, teaching your kids right from wrong, or refusing to bow to the latest social media mob.
Its saying no to the collectivist nonsense peddled by Islamist, Marxists or globalist billionaires who want us all marching in lockstep and eating bugs. Look at the swamp today: politicians like Thom Tillis, pocketing millions in health industry cash, or bureaucrats pushing scams like the Provider Tax to fatten corrupt hospital systems. That’s the opposite of liberty—it’s a rigged game where elites profit while the rest of us are left holding the bag.
Independence Day reminds us to fight, fight, fight for the most important civil right of all time, the right of the individual. We are individuals who answer only to God our conscience and our Constitution, not to some faceless collective or D.C. insider.
This July 4th, let’s ditch the idea that liberty’s just a three-day weekend. It’s the freedom to make your own way, whether that’s starting a small business, carrying your firearm to protect your home, or telling the woke police to buzz off when they demand you conform.
It’s the spark in every “screw you” to overreach, from the Founders flipping off the crown to us rejecting today’s petty tyrants. So, raise a beer, raise a finger, light a sparkler grill some dogs, but remember: we’re celebrating the right to live free, make our own choices, and keep the government’s paws off our lives … because that’s the America worth fighting and dying for.
