If there was ever one single picture capture’s the lack of responsibility that’s currently gripped our planet, it is this shot of a woman taking a smiling selfie while on the roof of her car as it slowly sinks into the Rideau River in Manotick, Ontario:

This completely encapsulates the narcissism of modern western culture today as a metaphor for how oblivious people are to the danger surrounding us. As freedom and liberty slowly sinks into an ice cold river of totalitarian command and control, society is distracted by technology and the desire for acceptance and attention.

The driver didn’t simply slide off the road into the icy river either, seems she was actually driving her car on the frozen river for some distance.

The full story comes from WAFB:

[S]ecurity camera footage from Sacha Gera’s backyard shows the car speeding down the river at what witnesses say was about 60 kilometers per hour.

“You don’t expect your kids to have to watch out for, for cars zipping down on the frozen river,” Gera said.

Zachary King and a neighbor rescued her with a rope and a kayak.

“Got her on the kayak, pulled her in. And as soon as we pulled her in, the car went under. Fully,” King said. …

“And then we pull her out, and we’re like, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ And she’s like, ‘Oh, just having fun,’” King said. “I was like, ‘What?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, I’d totally do that again.’ Like word for word that’s what she said.”

She felt confident her worthless life would be saved by someone else and her reckless behavior would be someone else’s responsibility. And in this instance she was right, the rescue that she correctly assumed would come in time did in fact arrive, but in the future no one is going to rescue us from the consequences of indulging in brain dead liberalism as Western Civilization continues to break down.
