Now, in a Facebook Live stream posted yesterday (April 19), Nugent announced that he has tested positive for the virus. “Everybody told me that I should not announce this,” he said.
“I have had flu symptoms for the last ten days. I thought I was dying. Just a clusterfuck. “I was tested positive today. I got the Chinese shit. I’ve got a stuffed up head, body aches.
“My God, what a pain in the ass. I literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days… So I was officially tested positive for COVID-19 today.”

A three-alarm fire tore through Domino Sugar’s massive raw sugar storage shed and entered the Baltimore sugar refinery on a conveyor belt Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
Firefighters were called about 3 p.m. to the storage shed behind the waterfront refinery at 1100 Key Highway East, where flames could be seen from a distance and thick smoke with a burnt sugar odor billowed across the harbor.

Vaccinated Americans emerging from the worst of the coronavirus pandemic and feeling a strong urge to travel, may soon be able to set their sights on the Eiffel Tower.
French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview Sunday that officials have been firming up plans to grant entry to fully jabbed Americans — of whom there are now some 85.36 million, or 26% of the population — as part of a broader tourism reopening.
“We will progressively lift the restrictions in the beginning of May, which means that we will organize in the summer time with our professionals in France for French European citizens, but as well for American citizens,” he said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.” “So we are working hard to propose a very concrete solution, especially for US citizens who are vaccinated, so with a special pass, I would say.”

A Minnesota man is facing a murder charge for punching a high school hockey coach during a deadly dispute that started over social distancing, prosecutors said.
Ryan John Whisler, 44, of St. Paul, was charged with second-degree murder Monday in the death of Michael G. Ryan, 48, who coached the girls’ hockey team at Jefferson High School in Bloomington, according to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office.
Witnesses at a bar in St. Paul told cops Whisler and Ryan went at the same time to the bathroom, where some urinals were covered in cellophane to encourage social distancing, according to a criminal complaint.
Whisler then took cellphone video of himself urinating at the covered urinal, which
“agitated” Ryan, but the coach didn’t say anything, the complaint states.
Ryan later called out Whisler as his group was leaving the bar, setting off an argument that continued outside, prosecutors said.

Rep. Maxine Waters — who has been blasted for calling on protesters to “get more confrontational” if former cop Derek Chauvin is acquitted of murder charges in George Floyd’s death — reportedly asked for police protection during her trip to Minneapolis.
A document obtained and published by Townhall appears to show that the Democratic congresswoman requested a police escort to the city, where she called for people to “stay in the streets” during the unrest.
Waters, 82, flew to Minnesota-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday and demanded a guilty verdict for the former officer “or else.”
The document published by the outlet lists the “requesting organization” as the US Capitol Police and the “name of the primary protectee” as Waters, who was flying on Delta.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Monday that the state Senate does not currently have the votes to pass permitless carry of handguns but that he will try to see if there is a “path” to change that.
The news from the Republican presiding officer of the Senate came days after the House approved a permitless carry bill, commonly referred to as “constitutional carry” by supporters.
“If we have the votes to pass a permitless carry bill off the Senate floor, I will move it,” Patrick said in a statement. “At this point we don’t have the votes on the floor to pass it. I plan to meet with law enforcement who oppose permitless carry and with the [National Rifle Association] and [Gun Owners of America] who support it to see if we can find a path that a majority of senators will vote to pass.”

A major coalition of Black faith leaders in Georgia, representing more than 1,000 churches in the state, will call on Tuesday for a boycott of Home Depot, arguing that the company has abdicated its responsibility as a good corporate citizen by not pushing back on the state’s new voting law.
The call for a boycott, led by Bishop Reginald T. Jackson, who oversees all 534 African Methodist Episcopal churches in Georgia, represents one of the first major steps to put significant economic pressure on businesses to be more vocal in opposing Republican efforts in Georgia and around the country to enact new restrictions on voting.
“We don’t believe this is simply a political matter,” Bishop Jackson said in an interview. “This is a matter that deals with securing the future of this democracy, and the greatest right in this democracy is the right to vote.”

The Biden administration is weighing requiring tobacco companies to lower the level of nicotine in cigarettes so they are no longer addictive, according to a report.
The issue is being considered as administration officials approach an end-of-the-month deadline whether it will ban menthol cigarettes, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.
The Food and Drug Administration must respond by April 29 to a petition to ban menthol cigarettes by disclosing whether it is pursuing such a policy.
The administration is weighing three options – banning menthol, reducing nicotine levels or both, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Reducing the amount of nicotine in cigarettes to low addictive levels would conceivably allow millions of smokers to either quit or switch to less harmful alternatives, like nicotine gums, lozenges or e cigarettes, the report said.
