Los Angeles School District Reaches Deal With Teachers’ Union to Reopen Classes
The unions demands seem to have been met and this brings an end to the strike by teachers that’s resulted in countless suicides by children in LA County.

Students in the nation’s second-largest school district could return to class next month under a tentative deal announced Tuesday with the powerful teachers union.
The Los Angeles Unified School District and the union said the tentative agreement provides a number of “safety parameters” that would allow a partial reopening of campuses.
As with most other California public schools, LAUSD’s more than 600,000 students have been learning online for almost a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been spinning the nursing home scandal pretty much since it first came out last year. He’s done the same thing with the allegations from women, now six women, accusing him of sexual harassment and/or touching them inappropriately.
Interestingly, in regard to the women, a letter came out from Democratic lawmakers telling people to wait for the New York Attorney General’s investigation of Cuomo and not to call for him to resign, that such calls were “premature” and would themselves “undermine” the role of the AG.
What utter nonsense, right? Calling for him to resign doesn’t do a darn thing to undermine any investigation. It’s just hoping he has a conscience, which, of course, he doesn’t. It’s a ridiculous political spin that makes no sense. Almost sounds like Cuomo influenced it.
Guess what? He did. According to reports, his people were circulating it, trying to get female lawmakers to sign aboard it.

The publisher of American Crisis, Andrew Cuomo’s book about the coronavirus pandemic, will cease promotional efforts as the governor struggles under a New York crisis of his own making.
Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, of workplace bullying by multiple former aides, and of conspiring to cover-up Covid-19 deaths in nursing homes as the pandemic hit his state last year.
The New York Times reported Crown’s decision regarding Cuomo’s book, a spokesperson telling the paper there were “no plans” for a reprint, citing “the ongoing investigation into [New York state] reporting of Covid-related fatalities in nursing homes”.

Giant Food is launching a new initiative to highlight minority-owned business providers in their stores.
Over 3,000 products in Giant stores will feature updated shelf labels. There are over 218 businesses in Giant’s vendor partnerships.
The labels represent businesses that are Women, Black, Asian-Indian, Hispanic, LGBT, Asian-Pacific, or Veteran owned. The program is part of the store’s efforts to promote diversity.
“We have identified any U.S.- based vendor that is 51% or more owned by one of our minority suppliers,” said Kate Kowalzik, Director of Brand Strategy and Media at Giant Food. “Businesses with certifications have also been included and the list continues to grow.”
Armed Citizen Stops Robbery Suspect at Chick-fil-A in Atlanta

An armed person stopped an attempted burglary in Atlanta this week, police said.
On March 8 around 3:03 p.m., officers responded to a Chik-fil-A on Peachtree Street.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who stated a black male walked inside, produced a firearm and demanded money from several employees. The employees fled and the suspect exited the business a short time later. Several nearby citizens confronted the suspect as he was leaving. One of the citizens was armed and at some point, during the confrontation, the citizen fired several shots. The suspect ran on foot and was apprehended nearby, by the citizens and held until police arrived,” the Atlanta Police Department said in a preliminary update sent to The Epoch Times.

Washington (CNN) — Arkansas on Tuesday became the first state in 2021 to enact a near-total abortion ban — a bold step by abortion opponents seeking to renew challenges to the Supreme Court’s landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized the procedure nationally.
The court, which now leans conservative, has shown it is open to considering abortion restrictions, a perceived opportunity that many anti-abortion advocates have pushed lawmakers to pursue.
The Arkansas bill, SB6, bans providers from performing abortions “except to save the life of a pregnant woman in a medical emergency,” and makes no exceptions for instances of rape, incest or fetal anomalies. Those found to violate the law could face a fine of up to $100,000 and up to 10 years in prison.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Burger King U.K. announced a new scholarship program designed specifically to help female Burger King employees pursue their culinary careers. As the fast-food chain explained, only 20% of chefs are women, which is something they were hoping to change. Unfortunately, the way they announced the program — with a tweet reading “Women belong in the kitchen” — didn’t sit well with many social media users.
Initially, Burger King U.K. defended its tweets, but the company has since apologized for its choice of words.

Per the initiative, children under 7 will be forbidden from watching “Dumbo,” “Peter Pan” “Swiss Family Robinson” and the “The Aristocats.” Settings on the app will prevent the movies from even showing up on the young viewers’ profiles. Disney explained its rationale behind each film’s removal on the kid-focused Stories Matter section of their website.
They cited “Dumbo’s” (1941) infamous singing crows, which “pay homage to racist minstrel shows, where white performers with blackened faces and tattered clothing imitated and ridiculed enslaved Africans on Southern plantations.”

Harvard Releases App To Help Ease Students ‘Anxiety’ Around Finding ‘Gender Inclusive’ Bathrooms…

Harvard University is developing a web application that will show where “gender inclusive restrooms” are located across campus. The project titled, “The Gender Inclusive Restroom Mapping” hopes to prevent discrimination and anxiety for gender nonconforming individuals who aren’t able to find the appropriate restroom on campus. Harvard also stated that it is a “public health concern.”
According to the Harvard Crimson, the university created four separate working groups that will help with the project. The signage, inventory, mapping technologies, and promotion/communication working groups collaborated to determine the location of restrooms across campus and consulted with groups to promote awareness.
