it’s true that many of the very earliest religions blended politics with faith, but Christianity, through Jesus Christ shifted religion away from politics toward spiritual guidance. Islam on the other hand, retains a political core, with jihad as its driving force, remove jihad, and the faith becomes nothing but a series of hollow rituals.
