A Colorado mother has spoken out about her 12-year-old daughter being secretly transitioned in her sixth-grade classroom, without her knowledge or consent. She claims trusted adults convinced her daughter that her normal pubescent discomfort meant she was transgender, guiding her toward puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. After the mother discovered the situation, she says she was bullied into accepting the transition, with suicide threats used to pressure her. She asserts that affirming her daughter’s mental health distress made things worse, even leading to a suicide attempt. The mother now advocates for rejecting Colorado’s HB 25-1312, which expands transgender initiatives, warning that it undermines parental rights and could lead to more harm for children. The bill has passed the House and is now heading to the governor’s desk.
