ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo, facing mounting calls for his resignation and mounting sexual harassment allegations, flashed a thumbs-up Wednesday after getting vaccinated against COVID and receiving glowing praise from former Rep. Charlie Rangel.
The governor got a single shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at a popup clinic at Mount Neboh Baptist Church in Harlem, where Rangel and others rallied around the embattled governor.
“When people start piling up on you … you go to your family and you go to your friends because you know that they are going to be with you,” the 90-year-old retired lawmaker said. “Due process and hearing is basically what we believe in in this country.”

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Authorities say a Wisconsin judge has been arrested on tentative charges of possession of child pornography.
The state Department of Justice said in a release that Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Brett Blomme was apprehended Tuesday following an investigation into “multiple uploads of child pornography.”
The DOJ said a criminal complaint is expected to be filed Wednesday. The images were allegedly uploaded through a Kik messaging application account in October and November 2020.

MADISON — Norfolkans and area residents interested in learning more about the possibility of a convention of the states are invited to come to a gathering at the Norfolk Public Library later this month that is scheduled to include three state senators.
State Sens. Mike Flood of Norfolk, Steve Halloran of Hastings and Tim Gragert of Creighton are scheduled to attend the informal gathering. It will be on Friday, March 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Norfolk Public Library.
The Article V Convention of the States meeting will be to discuss the prospect of calling a convention to amend the U.S. Constitution. In the past 10 years, various attempts to get more states to pass legislation in support have taken place, proposing such steps as setting term limits for Congress, requiring a balanced budget or even imposing term limits for Supreme Court justices, among other things.
“I just became aware of the Convention of States just a little over a month ago,” said Steve Jessen of Norfolk, who discussed it Tuesday with the Madison County Board of Commissioners.
Jessen said with all the frustrations with the federal government, he wasn’t aware of the other way to amend the U.S. Constitution outside of going through Congress.

Four individuals allegedly matching identities on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database have been arrested on the U.S.-Mexico border so far during Fiscal Year 2021.
“Three of the people arrested were from Yemen and one was from Serbia,” Axios reported. “The four arrests are more than the number of similar people taken into custody during recent full fiscal years.”
The FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database, commonly referred to as “the watchlist,” was created in the aftermath of the Islamic terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, after the 9/11 Commission Report found that government agencies did not share information about terrorist suspects in an effective and timely manner. DHS begins it’s fiscal year on October 1.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday clarified that President Biden’s proposed tax hike would apply to people who earn $200,000 per year if they are married to someone who makes the same amount.
Psaki said at her daily press briefing that the proposed $400,000 threshold for tax increases applies to “families” rather than individuals.
The clarification significantly lowers the tax-hike threshold announced by Biden in an ABC News interview that aired Wednesday.
Biden’s interview statement appeared to indicate the cutoff would be $400,000 in individual income.
“Yes, anybody making more than $400,000 will see a small to a significant tax increase,” Biden told George Stephanopoulos.
Biden added, “If you make less than $400,000, you won’t see one single penny in additional federal tax.”

The United Auto Workers union has informed workers at the Avon Lake Ford plant that it plans to move a major project slated for 2023 from Northeast Ohio to its plant in Mexico.
The letter, dated Friday, March 12, stated that Ford is going back on its agreement to build a “next-generation vehicle” at the Avon Lake plant in 2023.
In 2019, the UAW says Ford promised to invest $900 million in a new project at the Avon Lake plant, that was set to begin production in 2023. The agreement also included a “complete revitalization” of the facility.
