In the “Matrix” movies actor Keanu Reeves plays the part of corporate-worker-bee Thomas Anderson (Neo), who becomes ‘awake’ to the reality of a preconstructed ‘mind-prison’ (the matrix) which humanity is being unknowingly forced into at the literal moment of their birth, and ‘silently consumed’ for their Energy.
After escaping the mind-prison, Neo is subsequently chased throughout the entire movie trilogy by a despotic, artificial-intelligence tyranny (the ‘Machines’), and their useful henchmen inside the matrix (Agent(s) Smith(s)), who seek to stop his efforts to destroy the matrix and free Mankind. At the conclusion of the trilogy, it is ultimately agreed that both sides have reached an everlasting impasse, one in which neither can outlast or outmaneuver the other. Instead of continuing forward eternally in the pattern, a trade is agreed, wherein Neo offers himself up to be absorbed directly by the machine-super-intelligence, in exchange for lasting peace around the entire world, and genuine freedom for all of humanity.
It is sort of appropriate then that the “Date of Preparation” stamped onto the fictional Thomas Anderson’s, or Neo’s, US State Department passport was September 11, 2001.
