Can we finally stop with the lies about January 6th being an “insurrection?”
The FBI says the attack on the U.S. Capitol building was not the result of an organized plot by Trump supporters to overturn the presidential election results.
Let me repeat that so even the most braid dead of all liberals can understand: The FBI is saying the violence WAS NOT a centrally coordinated attack by far-right groups or by supporters of President Trump. It WAS NOT the greatest threat to our Democracy since the Civil War. Got it?
That’s according to an exclusive report released today from Reuters.
The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.
Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.
President Trump if you will remember – called on his supporters to peacefully protest that day.
Law enforcement sources say there was no grand scheme involving Roger Stone or Alex Jones to storm the Capitol or take hostages.
Also the report indicates that of the over 570 people arrested, the Justice Department has no plans of filing serious charges such as “seditious conspiracy,” in other words, to accuse anyone of trying to overthrow the government. They have also opted not to bring racketeering charges, often used against organized criminal gangs.
Prosecutors have also not brought any charges alleging that any individual or group played a central role in organizing or leading the riot. Law-enforcement sources told Reuters no such charges appeared to be pending.
Conspiracy charges that have been filed allege that defendants discussed their plans in the weeks before the attack and worked together on the day itself. But prosecutors have not alleged that this activity was part of a broader plot.
But at this point it would be a huge mistake to just drop it and move on. We need to find out what really happened on January 6th. We need answers, and I don’t mean from some congressional committee involving idiots like Adam Schiff or Adam Kinzinger.
Why did U.S. Capitol police invite protesters inside the building?
Why did Nancy Pelosi order police to stand down?
Why were multiple intelligence reports warning of an attack ignored?
What’s on the hundreds of hours of video evidence that’s been withheld?
And even though most of us know the answer to this, we need official public recognition of the Capitol Police Officer who killed Ashli Babbitt. (Investigative journalist Paul Sperry has reported the shooter likely is Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd.)
If in fact the reporting from Reuters is correct and this was not some sort of a right-wing plot, is it remotely possible that rogue agents within the FBI and the Deep State orchestrated the attack on the Capitol with plans to either implicate or frame President Trump.
We the people, need to demand that investigation.
