Ghislaine Maxwell Prosecution Reveals Nearly 3 Million Pages of Evidence
Ghislaine Maxwell’s prosecutors have disclosed 2.7 million pages of evidence to her lawyers in her Jeffrey Epstein trafficking case, a court filing has revealed.
The British socialite is awaiting trial in July on allegations she groomed underage girls for the New York financier to abuse.
Maxwell, a friend of Prince Andrew, denied the original allegations and is expected to enter a plea to a new indictment containing claims from a fourth victim later this month.

Utah’s statewide mask mandate is set to expire on Saturday, but the mandate requiring face coverings in schools is remaining the same.
Some parents believe that should change.
A group called “Utah Parents United” has started the “See My Smile” campaign. Through videos, billboards and social media posts, they are sharing a message urging the removal of mask requirements in schools.
“At what point are we allowed, as parents, to make our health decisions for our own children?” said Corrine Johnson, a member of Utah Parents United. “Yes, there are children who will still be at risk, but that risk is minimized by their choice to be able to wear a mask. We feel strongly that parents who want to mask their child for safety have every right to do so, so we ask that right be given to our children.”
The group is planning rallies outside every school district office this coming Saturday to encourage parents to make the choice for their own families on whether or not to send their children to school on Monday, April 12 with or without a mask.

A high school in Portland, Ore., has postponed changing its mascot to the evergreen tree after a committee member raised concerns over the possible racist connotations.
The Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School’s namesake is the Pulitzer Prize-winning African American journalist who extensively reported on and protested against lynching, reports the Portland Tribune. Originally, the evergreen tree was proposed because, according to Ellen Whatmore, a mascot committee member and a teacher at the school, evergreens “are characterized by the life-giving force of their foliage, the strength of their massive trunk, and the depth of their roots—in an individual tree and as a forest of trees.”

JAMUL, Calif.—U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents arrested a man on Friday who had a prior conviction for second-degree murder.
On April 2 at approximately 5 p.m., a citizen called USBP reporting two suspicious men near Marron Valley Road in Dulzura, Calif. Arriving to the reported address, an agent located the two men, who had been walking in harsh terrain for several days. As the agent approached, the men asked for water and explained they became lost after crossing the border. The agent provided water and determined both men had entered the U.S. illegally. The two men were arrested and transported to a nearby Border Patrol station for processing.

The European Commission backed on Tuesday a call from U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen for a global minimum corporate tax, but said its rate should be decided in talks in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Yellen said on Monday she was working with G20 countries to agree on a global corporate minimum tax rate to end a “thirty-year race to the bottom on corporate tax rates”.
The U.S. plan envisages a 21% minimum corporate tax rate, coupled with eliminating exemptions on income from countries that do not enact a minimum tax to discourage the shifting of jobs and profits overseas.

Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, on Tuesday said he is confident the mass vaccination effort underway in the United States will prevent another “explosion” of coronavirus cases and a fourth deadly wave of the pandemic.
“As long as we keep vaccinating people efficiently and effectively, I don’t think that’s gonna happen,” Fauci said of a fourth wave during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “That doesn’t mean that we’re not going to still see an increase in cases.”
Fauci said it will “remain to be seen” if there is an uptick in cases or if it will “explode into a real surge” as more states reopen their economies and relax public health guidelines.

In the pen tray is a piece of the USS Arizona that was sunk by Japanese torpedo bombers at Pearl Harbor in 1941. The wreckage still lies on the seabed in Hawaii.

Lee cited recent leadership changes within the Nevada Democratic Party, calling it a “Socialist takeover.” Lee’s campaign website now reflects the switch.
“Though I’ve been a registered Democrat on paper my entire life, I made the switch in my heart a long time ago, because on some things, there’s simply no compromise,” Lee said in a statement. “That’s why I voted for President Trump twice.”
